Hever Castle, in Kent (south of London), was the girlhood home of Anne
Boleyn, 2nd wife of Henry VIII. Henry later gave the castle to Anna of
Cleves, his fourth wife who used it as a residence. The loggia is part
of a large "Italian Garden" built between 1904-1908 by American
millionaire William Waldorf Astor (Lord Astor). Before Astor's time,
the area was marshland.
The view here is standing inside the loggia and facing east toward a lake which is part of the River Eden.
